Data Analyst - Fraud Intelligence Team

About the role

Join Riskified’s Fraud Intelligence team as a Data Analyst. You will help protect merchants by researching emerging fraud tactics, analysing large transactional datasets and contributing to the development of detection tools that power the company’s real‑time fraud‑prevention engine.

Key responsibilities

• Research and investigate new and evolving fraud modus operandi across the merchant base.
• Analyse large‑scale transactional data using SQL and statistical languages (R or Python) to uncover patterns, anomalies and emerging fraud trends.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Product and Engineering teams to build, define and refine fraud‑detection tools.
• Translate research findings into actionable insights that improve detection accuracy and merchant performance.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing detection logic, flagging gaps or drift as fraud patterns evolve.
• Document investigation findings and methodologies to strengthen the team’s shared knowledge base.
• Work cross‑functionally with Risk Operations and Account Management to respond quickly to new fraud threats.

Required profile

• 2‑3+ years of analytical experience working with complex data sets.
• Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
• Full professional proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Proficient SQL.
• Experience with R or Python for data analysis.
• Familiarity with fraud, payments or e‑commerce domains is a plus.
