VP of Automation Engineering

About the role

Huzzle is recruiting a VP of Automation Engineering for its client, an AI-powered revenue systems company that builds automation-first go-to-market infrastructure. The role is a hands-on executive position acting as the foundational technical leader and strategic partner to the CEO, architecting and scaling automation systems, building internal products and leading a high-performing engineering team. It is a full-time engagement as an independent contractor, fully remote.

Key responsibilities

• Own and scale end-to-end automation systems using n8n and API integrations, including orchestration layers for multi-client environments and resilient systems with monitoring, alerting and self-healing.
• Integrate tools such as Clay, CRMs and outbound platforms into a unified infrastructure.
• Build internal and client-facing products with Node.js, TypeScript and modern frameworks, owning the full lifecycle from architecture to deployment, and set up CI/CD pipelines and documentation.
• Design and deploy production-grade AI/LLM systems (Claude, OpenAI, etc.), use Claude Code as a core development accelerator, and build intelligent pipelines for classification, enrichment and decision-making.
• Lead a high-performing engineering team, define the technical roadmap, and work closely with the CEO on product and engineering strategy.

Required profile

• Deep, production-level experience with n8n automation systems.
• Proven experience leading engineers while staying hands-on.
• Daily, hands-on use of Claude Code in development workflows.
• Strong systems architecture thinking and an executive-level mindset.
• Preferred: agency or services background with multi-client automation, SaaS or productized internal tools, and cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP).

Required skills

• Full-stack development with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, APIs and databases.
• Clay for data enrichment, signal detection or GTM automation.
• Experience building and scaling AI/LLM systems in production.
