Transmission Line Engineer 3 - Grid

About the role

You will apply your expertise in transmission line engineering to design, analyze, and specify high‑voltage lines ranging from 69 kV to 765 kV. The position is hybrid, with three days on‑site and two days remote, and includes a relocation package for eligible candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Design transmission lines, including conductors, hardware, insulation, structures, foundations and electrical principles.
• Perform structural analysis and design of pole, lattice, framed and guyed structures, and develop foundation designs.
• Conduct conductor selection, shielding, grounding and induction studies, and generate cost estimates and schedules.
• Model lines in PLS‑CADD, calculate sag, determine right‑of‑way requirements, and produce plan and profile drawings.
• Prepare specifications, review vendor submittals, and support procurement of materials and construction.

Required profile

• Degree from an ABET‑accredited engineering program.
• Minimum 3 years of transmission line engineering experience.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (read, write, speak).
• Eligibility to work in the United States (no sponsorship).

Required skills

• Proficiency with PLS‑CADD and PLS‑POLE.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Experience with Python, MATLAB, and advanced Excel for automation.
• Familiarity with PLS‑TOWER, SAG10, LPILE, MFAD, ArcGIS, CDEGS, AutoCAD, and MicroStation (valued but not required).
