Traffic Agent – Cargo Operations

About the role

The Traffic Agent supports cargo dispatch at the San Juan Station in Carolina, Puerto Rico. You will handle airway bill processing, customs documentation, and customer interactions to ensure smooth freight movement.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and transmit flight data through the Automated Manifest System (AMS) for U.S. Customs release.
• Enter cargo descriptions, customs information, carriage declarations, and accessorial charges into the system.
• Place cargo on hold when required documents are missing and resolve discrepancies.
• Generate and review Manifest Discrepancy Reports (MDR) and Cargo Correction Advices (CCA).
• Assist customers with freight notifications, local deliveries, payments, and safe deposits.
• Book airway bills into the database, print as needed, and update Proof of Delivery (POD) records.
• Support inventory control, storage, delivery, and transfer of freight entering the United States.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related experience or 2 years of customer service experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license meeting company insurance standards and ability to obtain a SIDA badge.
• Legally eligible to work in Puerto Rico and willingness to work rotating 8‑hour shifts covering 24/7 operations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with the Automated Export System (AES) or similar customs software.
