Substation Physical Project Designer (Delineante) - Grid

About the role

We are seeking a Substation Physical Project Designer to join our grid design team. In this hybrid position you will work closely with engineers and designers to produce detailed high‑voltage substation drawings and ensure design compliance with client standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review substation general arrangement, equipment plans, section views, bill of material, lightning shielding, grounding, conduit, and below‑grade raceway plans.
• Conduct technical reviews of vendor deliverables, incorporate project team comments, and resolve issues.
• Lead field walkdowns, gather data at client sites, and coordinate constructability reviews with contractors.
• Identify and apply applicable codes, standards, and client specifications throughout the design process.
• Mentor junior designers and drafters, supervise production of design deliverables, and provide technical guidance on calculations.
• Develop cost‑effective design approaches, manage work plans within budget and schedule, and monitor assigned staff performance.

Required profile

• Experience in high‑voltage substation design and documentation.
• Proven ability to lead field walkdowns and coordinate with clients and contractors.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design codes, standards, and best practices.
• Excellent communication skills for technical reviews and mentorship.
