Staff Civil Engineer – San Juan, PR

About the role

Langan is seeking a Staff Civil Engineer to join its collaborative team in San Juan, Puerto Rico. You will support the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land‑development, and infrastructure projects across mixed‑use, commercial, residential, and institutional sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering and land‑development projects.
• Prepare and modify engineering documents such as reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related software.
• Analyze maps, drawings, test data, and aerial photographs to assess soil, terrain, hydrology, and geology for project design.
• Recommend innovative approaches to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Apply engineering principles and advanced mathematics to solve design challenges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members on project tasks.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Entry‑level to 2 years of relevant experience.
• EIT certification or current registration for the FE exam.
• Prior internship or professional experience in site/civil design, including grading, storm‑water management, drainage, and soil erosion control.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
