SQL Server Database Administrator – Distributed Cloud

About the role

Devoteam is looking for a skilled SQL Server Database Administrator to join its Distributed Cloud team in Lisbon. The role focuses on managing and optimizing OLP/OLAP SQL Server environments while driving automation and performance improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain OLP/OLAP SQL Server databases.
• Perform database tuning, performance optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Manage database partitioning and optimize data management processes.
• Develop automation scripts and tools using PowerShell, Python, and/or C# to support DBA activities.
• Design, improve, and automate large‑scale information and data collection processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and automation of DBA processes and internal applications.
• Ensure database environments remain stable, efficient, and scalable.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in Database Administration.
• Strong technical background combining Database Administration and Software Development.
• Master’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering or a related field.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T‑SQL.
• Professional experience with PowerShell and Python and/or .NET.
• Experience with Git for source code version control.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server environments.
• Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, database partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proactive mindset focused on automation, optimization, and continuous improvement.
