Specialist Buyer – Procurement & Supply Chain

About the role

Hikma is seeking a Specialist Buyer to join its procurement team in Portugal. The role is hybrid, combining on‑site collaboration with remote work, and focuses on ensuring reliable supply of raw materials, packaging, and equipment for pharmaceutical production.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key and strategic suppliers.
• Execute the full requisition‑to‑pay process, converting requisitions to purchase orders and monitoring PO status.
• Ensure timely delivery of purchased materials and resolve order‑related issues.
• Maintain supplier databases, price lists, and purchase documentation in the ERP system.
• Collaborate with Supply Planning to develop cost‑effective purchasing plans.
• Prepare procurement analytics, including spend reporting, data cleansing, and supplier onboarding.
• Monitor supplier performance and participate in evaluations.
• Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to achieve cost savings and improve cash flow.
• Support audit readiness, ensure compliance with GMP, SOPs, and financial controls.
• Develop Power BI dashboards to track KPIs, supplier performance, and spend analytics.

Required profile

• Associate degree (Diploma) with 5+ years of experience or Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams such as Finance, Quality, and Operations.

Required skills

• Power BI for dashboard creation and reporting.
• ERP system proficiency (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
