Sourcing Buyer

About the role

EID, a leading high‑tech defence company in Portugal, is looking for a Sourcing Buyer to manage end‑to‑end procurement processes and develop a robust supplier network. You will lead strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiate framework agreements and ensure timely delivery of materials for business operations and projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead sourcing and procurement activities across multiple categories, including supplier selection, qualification, negotiation and performance management.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, service level agreements and framework contracts to secure competitive and sustainable supply solutions.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies focused on cost optimisation, supply continuity, quality improvement and risk mitigation.
• Monitor market trends, supplier performance and industry developments to identify opportunities and anticipate supply chain risks.
• Manage procurement processes within SAP while ensuring compliance with internal policies and standards.
• Collaborate with Production, Logistics, Product Management, Project Management and Finance to align material deliveries with business requirements.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of experience in procurement, sourcing or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proven track record in supplier management, strategic sourcing and commercial negotiations.
• Strong understanding of procurement best practices, contract management and category management principles.
• Experience applying Total Cost of Ownership methodologies and analysing supplier cost structures.
• Solid knowledge of Incoterms and international trade practices.
• Understanding of supply chain risk management and contingency planning.
