Software Engineer – Remote (Portugal)

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high‑impact backend services that enable secure and scalable digital financial solutions. The position is fully remote and based in Portugal, allowing you to collaborate with an international engineering team across multiple time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high‑quality backend services and applications.
• Take ownership of software components from initial design through production monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Build secure, fault‑tolerant, and scalable solutions that support large user bases.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to solve complex technical challenges.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, including microservices, cloud‑native solutions, and distributed systems.
• Apply modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, and continuous delivery.
• Utilise Event‑Driven Architecture and Domain‑Driven Design to create maintainable systems.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge‑sharing activities.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in software engineering principles.
• Experience with at least one programming language, preferably Python.
• Background in backend development and building reliable, secure systems.
• Comfortable learning new technologies and adapting to evolving requirements.
• Proactive, curious, and able to thrive in a collaborative remote environment.
