Software Engineer II

About the role

Zendesk’s AI Agents Advanced team is building the most advanced AI agents in customer experience. The Testing team ensures these agents are reliable through synthetic testing and evaluation frameworks. As a Full‑stack Engineer you will design and implement the systems that power this testing infrastructure, with a strong focus on backend services while also delivering user‑facing tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop APIs, event‑driven services, and data pipelines that support synthetic testing and quality validation.
• Build and maintain front‑end tools using TypeScript and React to enable product managers and analysts to interact with test results.
• Collaborate with product, design, data engineering and AI/ML teams to create seamless, data‑rich user experiences.
• Own feature delivery end‑to‑end, from architecture and implementation to testing and deployment.
• Contribute to the reliability, performance, and maintainability of the testing platform.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience building modern web applications with TypeScript, React and Node.js.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, data fetching strategies and integration with external services.
• Commitment to clean, modular, well‑tested code and maintainable architecture.
• Product‑mindset with a focus on user experience, accessibility and performance.
• Excellent communication, proactive collaboration and a drive for continuous learning.
