Software Engineer II – Connected Aviation Solutions (Hybrid)

About the role

Collins Aerospace is looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Connected Aviation Solutions team in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. The role focuses on developing and sustaining safety‑critical air traffic management software for civil and military customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software components for Air Traffic Management Systems.
• Perform integration, testing, and validation of safety‑critical code in a Unix/Linux environment.
• Write and maintain technical documentation following ATS SED software engineering standards.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams, program management, and external stakeholders to meet project milestones.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship or U.S. person status (required for program access).
• Residency in Puerto Rico at the start of employment.
• Prior software engineering experience, especially with safety‑critical or aerospace applications.

Required skills

• Experience working in a Unix/Linux development environment.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes.
