Software Engineer – Front‑end & Back‑end (IoT)

About the role

FOSSA Systems is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Lisbon office and contribute to the development of IoT satellite solutions. You will work on both front‑end and back‑end components, delivering scalable, user‑friendly applications that support our satellite constellation and remote asset management services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop efficient, scalable end‑to‑end solutions for front‑end and back‑end systems.
• Build web applications using JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
• Design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs.
• Write Python scripts for automation, data processing, and various functional tasks.
• Collaborate with hardware, operations, and product teams to integrate software with satellite hardware.

Required profile

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• Hands‑on experience or personal projects using JavaScript and Python.
• Strong understanding of REST API design and implementation.
• Proficiency with web technologies (HTML, CSS, React).
• Experience with MongoDB and InfluxDB.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
