Software Engineer, Data Engineering I (Hybrid)

About the role

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Software Engineer, Data Engineering I to support the design, development, and maintenance of data workflows. This entry‑level position focuses on data ingestion, transformation, and automation while working under the guidance of senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in building data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Support automation tasks for extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
• Perform initial database setup, including schema creation and indexing.
• Help update Infrastructure‑as‑Code configurations to ensure environment consistency.
• Participate in multi‑source data integration, data validation, and scripting activities.
• Develop simple scripts for data processing, validation, and movement.
• Support secure data practices, including SBOM activities and handling of sensitive data.
• Contribute to the modernization of legacy data pipelines.

Required profile

• STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or equivalent experience.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Less than 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
