Software Engineer - Back End

About the role

FARFETCH is looking for a motivated Back End Software Engineer to join its Porto team. You will help build and evolve the e‑commerce platform and marketplace that powers the global luxury fashion ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain core services for the E‑Commerce Platform and Marketplace.
• Stay current with backend and web technologies, architecture principles, and design patterns.
• Implement performance and security best practices.
• Work in an Agile/SCRUM environment focused on delivery and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate using .NET Core, C#, REST APIs, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra, Kafka, Redis, and Elasticsearch.

Required profile

• Strong experience in object‑oriented programming.
• Proficiency with unit and integration testing.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases, preferably SQL Server.
• Experience building REST APIs and working with NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with SOA architecture and SCRUM methodologies.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Java knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with Docker and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) is desirable.
