Site Construction Manager / Site Coordinator

About the role

Progressive Engineering is seeking a Site Construction Manager / Site Coordinator to lead on‑site construction activities for data centre and critical infrastructure projects in Sines, Portugal. The role will act as the primary liaison between clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all on‑site construction activities from material reception to final handover.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders.
• Organise daily site operations, resources, schedules and technical teams across multiple workstreams.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, propose mitigation actions and support decision‑making with the Project and Technical Managers.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and promote a strong safety culture.
• Oversee quality, timelines, logistics and construction milestones to guarantee successful execution.

Required profile

• Degree or higher technical qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience managing construction projects in industrial, electrical, infrastructure or data‑centre environments.
• Knowledge of MV & LV electrical distribution systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, planning and problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent English (minimum B2) and native Portuguese speaker.
