Shift Lead – Veterinary Hospital

About the role

The Shift Lead supports hospital productivity by balancing leadership duties with hands‑on paraprofessional work. This internal position reports to the Practice Manager or Chief of Staff and ensures smooth client and pet flow throughout the shift.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize and execute approximately 20% leadership tasks when senior managers are absent, while handling 80% paraprofessional duties.
• Recruit new clients, manage client and pet routing, and maximize the number of pets seen each day.
• Provide exceptional client service, educate owners on wellness plans, and perform non‑technical procedures.
• Complete client documentation, enter pet histories, and ensure accurate financial balances.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians by preparing procedures, monitoring hospitalized pets, and maintaining clean, sterile treatment areas.

Required profile

• Current Banfield associate applying through the internal Workday Jobs Hub.
• Ability to live the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. and exercise sound judgment in prioritizing duties.
