Senior Transmission Line Engineer – Remote (Puerto Rico)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to lead and deliver high‑quality transmission line designs for utility clients. This fully remote position offers the chance to apply advanced engineering expertise while mentoring junior staff and shaping project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex transmission line designs from concept through final design, including EFM, conductor sizing, induction, impedance, loss, and voltage‑drop analysis.
• Provide senior‑level technical direction to design staff, ensuring accuracy and industry‑leading solutions.
• Conduct engineering studies such as conductor economic evaluations, lightning performance, grounding calculations, and electrical clearance determinations per NESC.
• Interpret and apply regulatory requirements (NERC, FERC, regional standards) and ensure compliance across deliverables.
• Prepare and review technical documents, specifications, data sheets, RFQs, bid evaluations, vendor drawings, and purchase recommendations.
• Collaborate with project managers on scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing, construction support, and change‑order management.
• Perform QA/QC on engineering deliverables, production drawings, CAD outputs, and construction administration, resolving field design issues.
