Senior Software Engineer (Ruby) – Remote in Portugal

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer specialized in Ruby to join our remote team in Portugal. You will work on building and scaling robust backend services while collaborating with a multilingual, high‑performing group of engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable systems in production.
• Create and evolve APIs and distributed architectures.
• Work with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and follow agile practices.
• Collaborate with front‑end teams using React, Ember, GraphQL, and Kafka where needed.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Ruby and solid understanding of software architecture principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container/orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
• Fluent in English and French (B2/C1 level).
• Based in Portugal with EU citizenship or a valid Portuguese work permit.
