Senior Software Engineer – Addressing Team

About the role

Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Addressing team, responsible for building core services that protect large corporate networks. You will work on high‑impact microservices written primarily in Go, designing APIs and data models that scale with Cloudflare’s global edge network.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain microservices that manage IP address allocation, BGP dynamics, and traffic engineering.
• Design and implement new APIs and data models to support rapidly expanding addressing needs.
• Collaborate with system reliability, network, and product engineers to create automated, fault‑tolerant platforms.
• Gain deep knowledge of edge routers, DNS, IP provisioning pipelines, and related infrastructure.
• Ensure reliability and scalability of services using Go, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kafka, and related technologies.

Required profile

• Curious self‑starter eager to learn new technologies and solve complex networking problems.
• Proven ability to lead and shape product and system designs from the ground up.
• Strong experience writing high‑quality code in system languages such as Go, Python, or C/C++.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP/S/TLS, and basic networking concepts.
• Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL) and building distributed systems.
• Excellent debugging skills and meticulous attention to detail.
