Senior Ruby Software Engineer (French) – Remote (Portugal)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong Ruby expertise and fluency in French to join our remote team based in Portugal. You will help design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable systems that power our projects and enable our "Rhinos" to thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop high‑performance backend services using Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
• Collaborate with front‑end teams working with React, Ember, and GraphQL.
• Maintain and optimise databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and agile development practices.
• Work with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Ruby and solid understanding of software architecture, API design, and distributed systems.
• Fluency in English and French (B2/C1 level).
• Eligibility to work remotely from Portugal (EU citizenship or valid work permit).
