Senior QA Engineer

About the role

Capital on Tap is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join its fast‑growing fintech team in Porto. You will work closely with engineers and product managers to ensure the highest quality of our web and mobile financial products.

Key responsibilities

• Own manual and automated testing across the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to and expand automated test coverage within an agile squad.
• Drive continuous improvement through proof‑of‑concepts, refining QA processes, tools, and best practices.
• Investigate user‑reported issues, perform hands‑on technical testing, and manage bug reports.
• Develop deep product and domain knowledge, supporting engineers and promoting shared responsibility for quality.
• Prioritise work, manage risks, and escalate issues in a fast‑paced environment.

Required profile

• Proven QA experience across web and mobile applications, including functional, regression, performance, exploratory, manual and automated testing.
• Understanding of end‑to‑end impact, risk, dependencies and pragmatic bug prioritisation.
• Hands‑on experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, Postman, RestSharp, xUnit/NUnit.
• Experience testing REST APIs.
• Proficiency in C# (or similar OOP language) and JavaScript/TypeScript.
