Senior Production Artist – Scientific Posters

About the role

The Senior Production Artist will lead the creation, formatting and delivery of high‑volume scientific posters and related communications for medical congresses, working remotely from Portugal or the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Lead production, layout and formatting of scientific posters, clinical trial deliverables and other scientific communications using expert‑level Adobe InDesign.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring accurate, on‑time delivery and compliance with client, regulatory and congress requirements.
• Prepare, review and package final print‑ready and digital files, performing pre‑flight checks and release activities.
• Conduct comprehensive quality‑control reviews and maintain production standards, templates, libraries and style sheets.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and clients, providing technical expertise and solutions to complex formatting challenges.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications or equivalent professional experience.
• 6+ years of production‑artist experience, preferably within pharmaceutical, healthcare or scientific publishing environments.
• Proven track record of high‑volume scientific poster production and figure redraws under tight deadlines.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating scientific poster expertise and publication‑ready deliverables.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to resolve production and formatting issues.

Required skills

• Adobe InDesign (expert level).
• Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat (advanced).
• Microsoft PowerPoint (advanced), Microsoft Word and Excel (working knowledge).
