Senior Payroll Associate (with SAP) - Portugal

About the role

Strada, a provider of payroll, human capital management and financial management solutions, is looking for a Senior Payroll Associate in Portugal. The role supports operational teams so they can meet client deadlines and deliver functional and technical expertise to a selection of clients, working closely with management.

Key responsibilities

• Support managers with client engagement, ensuring information is accurate and delivered on time
• Support and guide implementations and go-lives, and provide daily functional support to teams for payroll delivery
• Maintain the Client Solution workbook, update and enforce Defined Work Instructions and other process documentation
• Sign off system maintenance testing and review Statements of Works before sharing with clients
• Resolve escalated technical and functional issues, log defects with evidence, and support client escalations and lessons learned
• Help implement automation and continuous improvement, manage the legislation roadmap and support year-end
• Train and coach team members, identify upsell opportunities and adhere to security and compliance standards

Required profile

• BA/BS in a business-related field such as accounting, human resources or business administration, or equivalent education and experience
• 3-4 years of relevant experience administering payroll with SAP in an HR consulting, HR outsourcing or corporate environment
• Expert knowledge of payroll processes, practices and associated legislation
• Work authorization in Portugal without need for visa sponsorship

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of payroll inputs and outputs such as third-party interfaces, timekeeping, tax filing and benefits
• MS Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to identify and mitigate risks, attention to detail and excellent written and verbal skills
• Desirable: experience with standardization and automation, HRIS knowledge (Workday, SSFF, Oracle preferred), and payroll certifications
