Senior Operational Risk Analyst

About the role

FirstBank PR is seeking an experienced Senior Operational Risk Analyst to lead the identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of operational risks across the organization. The role serves as a trusted advisor to business units, providing risk‑based insights that support strategic objectives while fostering a strong risk culture.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct operational risk assessments for processes, products, services, and initiatives.
• Perform risk analyses and recommend actions to address vulnerabilities and control gaps.
• Monitor and report on risk exposures, trends, incidents, losses, and emerging risks.
• Develop, maintain, and track Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and risk metrics.
• Assist business units in implementing corrective action plans.
• Review incidents and loss events to determine root causes and preventive measures.
• Support design and implementation of risk policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
• Prepare risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and risk committees.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.
• Partner with stakeholders to strengthen risk awareness and promote proactive risk management.
• Participate in audits, regulatory examinations, and independent reviews.
• Support business continuity, resilience, and third‑party risk initiatives, including Business Impact Analysis.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in operational risk analysis within a financial institution.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
