Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Thought Machine is building the next generation of banking technology in the cloud. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer based in our Lisbon Engineering Hub, you will help design, deploy and operate the platforms that power our core and payments solutions for banks worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, monitor and maintain cloud‑native infrastructure supporting high‑volume banking services.
• Develop internal tools and integrations with third‑party infrastructure providers.
• Ensure reliability, security, performance and scalability of production environments.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to support backend and frontend services.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and incident response, driving root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Several years of experience operating large‑scale cloud infrastructure.
• Proven ability to take ownership of complex technical problems from design through implementation.
• Comfortable working onsite four days a week in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for engineering excellence.
