Senior Data Privacy & AI Counsel (Freelance)

About the role

Multiplier is seeking a Senior Counsel to lead privacy and AI legal matters for its global employment platform. This freelance position works remotely across Europe and partners with product, engineering, security, and operations teams to embed privacy‑by‑design and responsible AI principles into the core of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on global privacy, data protection, and AI issues throughout product development and commercial initiatives.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering from ideation to launch to embed privacy‑by‑design and risk‑based AI controls.
• Develop and maintain privacy and AI governance frameworks, including use‑case reviews, risk classification, documentation, and incident response.
• Lead privacy impact assessments (DPIAs, PIAs, TIAs), data mapping, retention programs, vendor reviews, and cross‑border transfer assessments.
• Draft and negotiate privacy‑related contract terms such as DPAs, SCCs, data‑use clauses, and vendor provisions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as a legal counsel in data privacy and AI, preferably within technology or SaaS environments.
• Strong understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and emerging AI regulations.
• Proven ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical product guidance.
• Excellent collaboration skills with cross‑functional product and engineering teams.

• Conducting DPIAs, PIAs, and data mapping exercises.
