Senior Cost Manager – Data Centre Construction

About the role

Gleeds is seeking a Senior Cost Manager to lead cost management services on a data centre construction project in Sines, Portugal. The role is on‑site full‑time, supporting Business Unit Directors and ensuring that cost deliverables meet client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Support Business Unit Directors in achieving project objectives.
• Prepare and present cost estimates, option studies, and budgeting forecasts.
• Conduct cost‑in‑use studies and evaluate tender submissions.
• Value completed work, arrange payments, and settle final accounts.
• Administer contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent.
• Produce and present cost reports to customers.
• Integrate cost management with project teams and identify cost‑related risks and opportunities.
• Advise directors on issues that could affect professional indemnity insurance.

Required profile

• Extensive cost management experience on large‑scale construction projects, preferably data centres or mission‑critical facilities.
• Professional knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and related industry standards.
• Understanding of construction procurement, tendering and post‑contract cost management.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and financial numeracy skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication in English; Portuguese is a plus.
• Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related degree.
• Available to work on‑site in Sines five days a week.
