Senior Cost Engineer – Space Programs

About the role

Airbus Portugal is seeking a senior Cost Engineer to support space programmes. The role will lead the consolidation of costing and pricing across multiple product lines, ensure alignment with technical and commercial baselines, and drive cost‑to‑target initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the offer cost brochure and detailed costing files, ensuring consistency between technical, industrial and commercial assumptions.
• Coordinate stakeholders (Engineering, Operations, Commercial, Procurement, Program) to converge costs toward target‑cost models.
• Maintain and update cost models and referential databases, collecting actuals and preparing deviation reports.
• Perform independent bottom‑up cost estimates using analytic, parametric or similarity approaches.
• Support bid preparation, pricing calculations and financial gate reviews (MG3, RMC).
• Assist programmes in cost target setting, supplier cost negotiations and post‑kick‑off cost tracking.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in cost engineering or cost estimating for aerospace or space projects.
• Proven ability to manage cross‑functional cost consolidation and deliver accurate financial data for decision gates.
