Senior Consultant – Accounting & Tax (Corporate Solutions)

About the role

As a Senior Consultant within the Corporate Solutions team, you will deliver high‑quality accounting, financial reporting and tax compliance services to a diverse portfolio of local and international clients. You will work closely with clients, support junior team members and help grow Apex Group’s Corporate Solutions business in Portugal.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounting and bookkeeping for Portuguese and international clients, ensuring compliance with Portuguese GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and statutory financial statements.
• Submit VAT, Corporate Income Tax (IRC), IES and other regulatory filings.
• Act as a Certified Accountant (Contabilista Certificado), reviewing, signing and submitting financial statements and tax returns.
• Develop strong client relationships, mentor junior consultants and liaise with auditors, tax authorities and banks.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and ensure timely, accurate delivery of client deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Certified Accountant (Contabilista Certificado) or actively progressing towards qualification.
• Relevant accounting experience with strong exposure to Portuguese tax compliance and Portuguese GAAP.
• Experience preparing financial statements and statutory reporting.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems.
