Senior Construction Representative – Fort Buchanan

About the role

The Senior Construction Representative will oversee all phases of construction at Fort Buchanan, ensuring compliance with federal plans, specifications, and safety standards. This position supports the project team by monitoring progress, preparing reports, and managing contract modifications for multimillion‑dollar DoD/USACE projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce daily surveillance and site reports covering workmanship, materials, safety, and subcontractor manpower.
• Inspect construction activities against schedules, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable codes.
• Identify deficiencies, recommend corrective actions, and assist in change‑order preparation.
• Review contractor plans, technical submittals, progress schedules, and safety/quality programs for approval.
• Monitor construction progress and alert the team to potential delays.
• Support all phases of contract modification and ensure compliance with federal regulations.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a federal background check and drug screening.
• High School Diploma/GED minimum; construction‑related degree preferred.
• At least 7 years of experience in construction contract administration and inspection on large, complex federal projects.
• Familiarity with RMS 3.0 and three‑phase inspection processes is advantageous.

Required skills

• RMS 3.0 inspection software.
• OSHA regulations and USACE Safety Manual (EM 385‑1‑1).
• Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) and National Electric Code (NFPA 70).
• Plumbing Code (IPC), Fire Protection Systems (NFPA 13 & 72).
• HVAC/TAB standards (ASHRAE, AABC, NEBB).
• Building commissioning, communications & security systems (IT, nurse call, imaging, IDS/PACS).
• Welding, painting, and metalizing inspection.
• HAZWOPER environmental safety.
