Senior Accounts Payable – Payments

About the role

Airbus Portugal is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable professional to join its Global Business Services (GBS) team in Lisbon. You will be responsible for managing the full payments lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely execution of both routine and urgent payment requests.

Key responsibilities

• Create, analyse and execute payment proposals.
• Manage inter‑company payments and urgent payment requests from internal customers.
• Analyse vendor accounts and maintain accurate payment records.
• Produce payment forecasts and other financial reports.
• Utilise internal and external banking tools to process payments.
• Investigate and resolve payment issues while adhering to compliance and internal controls.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives and rollout of new solutions.

Required profile

• Accountant with proven experience in payments processing.
• Finance or Accounting degree or equivalent administrative accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational and time‑management skills.
• Professional, self‑oriented with the ability to prioritize and troubleshoot efficiently.
• Intermediate English communication skills, both written and oral.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with SAP (preferred).
