Safety System Function Responsible – Radar Systems

About the role

As a Safety System Function Responsible (SFR) for radar systems, you will own safety‑relevant system function topics on Bosch’s automotive radar platform. You will act as the key interface between system engineering, software platform teams, hardware/SoC experts and functional safety stakeholders, contributing to the development of future radar generations.

Key responsibilities

• Take responsibility for safety‑related system function topics, focusing on SoC, hardware/software interaction and sensor availability.
• Understand and assess safety concepts for SoCs, including management, monitoring, reset and boot behaviour, and evaluate safety mechanism relevance for radar use cases.
• Serve as the technical counterpart for hardware/software safety issues, clarifying whether observed behaviour represents a functional safety problem or an expected limitation.
• Coordinate safety‑related development activities triggered by hardware or SoC changes, such as new radar processing platform variants or updated PHY/interface configurations.
• Contribute to technical safety concept discussions by translating system and hardware constraints into clear software and platform requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience with safety‑critical system functions in automotive radar or similar high‑frequency sensor platforms.
• Strong understanding of functional safety standards and the ability to work across hardware and software domains.
• Excellent coordination skills to manage cross‑functional development activities.
