Safety Pilot

About the role

As a Safety Pilot in Tekever's Flight Test & Demonstration team, you will ensure the safe execution of flight tests, demonstrations and operational missions across Tekever UAS platforms. You will work closely with Remote Pilots and flight crews, monitoring operations, identifying risks and taking decisive action to maintain safety.

Key responsibilities

• Support safe execution of flight tests, demonstrations and UAS operations, collaborating with RPIC and flight crew.
• Monitor flight operations and surrounding environment, identify hazards and mitigate risks.
• Assist in pre‑flight planning, risk assessments, aircraft inspections and post‑flight debriefings.
• Observe aircraft behaviour, detect anomalies, limitations or safety concerns during flight.
• Provide real‑time support for system failures, unexpected conditions or operational hazards.
• Maintain accurate records of flights, incidents, observations and safety‑related events.
• Deliver operational feedback to engineering and product teams for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Advanced English (C2) proficiency; Portuguese, Spanish or French a plus.
• Strong situational awareness, decision‑making and communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions in dynamic, high‑pressure flight environments.
• Willingness to travel and support flight operations and demonstrations as needed.

Required skills

• UAS flight‑test and demonstration experience.
• Risk assessment and hazard mitigation.
• Aircraft inspection and post‑flight debriefing.
• Knowledge of meteorology (MET) and airspace operations.
• A1/A3 certificates (CAA/EASA), A2 Certificate of Competence.
• Pilot licence (LAPL, PPL, HPL or equivalent).
