Registered Nurse – Per Diem (Children & Adolescents)

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide per‑diem care for children and adolescents in a behavioral health setting. You will assess physical and mental health needs, develop individualized care plans, and support patients and families throughout treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical and behavioral health needs and document findings.
• Develop, implement, and update nursing care plans based on assessments.
• Maintain accurate medical records and educate patients and families about health conditions.
• Ensure physicians' verbal orders are legible and transcribed correctly.
• Monitor patient status continuously, notify physicians of significant changes, and document medication administration.
• Administer medications, including controlled substances, following policy and documentation requirements.
• Process admissions and discharges efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain therapeutic rapport while respecting professional boundaries.
• Coordinate unit activities as directed and communicate professionally with patients, families, and staff.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license valid in the state of employment or eligibility to practice.
• Minimum one year of nursing experience; psychiatric or behavioral health experience is a plus.
• CPR certification and training in de‑escalation and restraint techniques (provided if needed).
• First‑aid certification may be required based on state or facility policies.
