Quality Technician – Microbiology

About the role

Baxter is seeking a Quality Technician – Micro to join its Quality organization. The role supports microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, sterilization studies, and laboratory operations to ensure product quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform environmental monitoring, including non‑viable particle counts, compressed‑air testing, and differential pressure verification.
• Conduct sterilization validation studies and related regulatory assessments.
• Execute growth promotion testing of culture media and support routine microbiological assays.
• Manage laboratory inventories of reagents, media, sampling equipment, and waste.
• Dispose of toxic agents according to company and environmental policies.
• Support autoclave qualification studies for production sterilization.
• Maintain laboratory equipment through preventive maintenance and routine care.
• Assist audits, investigations, and continuous‑improvement projects by updating SOPs.
• Accurately document and review laboratory records in line with cGMP, GLP, and FDA requirements.
• Help train and onboard new laboratory technicians.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Medical Technology, Biotechnology, or a related science.
• Previous experience in a microbiology or laboratory setting is preferred.
• Understanding of FDA regulations, cGMP, and GLP.
