Quality Manager for Data Centre Project in Portugal

About the role

The Quality Manager will provide independent, owner‑side quality assurance for Nscale’s 200 MW data centre build in Sines, Portugal. Reporting to the Project Coordinator and Development Director, the role ensures that all quality processes are robust, followed and protect the owner’s interests across the entire programme.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess quality management plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and audit programmes produced by the delivery team.
• Attend key site inspections, hold points and witness tests on behalf of Nscale, including OFCI delivery inspections and construction FOK.
• Review contractor QA submittals, method statements and material approvals, providing technical commentary and flagging concerns.
• Coordinate and manage all owner‑quality interfaces end‑to‑end, working closely with the Infrastructure Lead.
• Act as the escalation point for non‑conformance and compliance issues, ensuring NCRs are raised, tracked and resolved to Nscale’s satisfaction.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction or infrastructure quality assurance, preferably on large‑scale data centre or power projects.
• Ability to provide independent oversight and intervene with authority when standards are not met.
• Strong analytical skills and the capacity to scrutinise reports, audits and inspection results.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with delivery teams, contractors and senior stakeholders.
