QA Automation Engineer

About the role

Air Apps, a family-founded company building an AI-powered Personal & Entrepreneurial Resource Planner, is looking for a QA Automation Engineer. The role builds and maintains automated test frameworks and regression test suites for web and mobile applications, working closely with developers, product managers and QA teams. It is a fully onsite position at the Lisbon office, with relocation support offered.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks for web and mobile apps.
• Create and run automated regression, functional, performance and API tests.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
• Work with developers to ensure testability of features and early defect detection.
• Analyse test results, troubleshoot failures and report issues to development teams.
• Identify critical scenarios and edge cases to improve test coverage.
• Help define quality standards and best practices with cross-functional teams.

Required profile

• Around 3+ years of experience in test automation development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Plus: knowledge of performance and load testing tools, and experience testing iOS and Android apps.

Required skills

• Test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Appium or Playwright.
• Programming in Python, Java, JavaScript or TypeScript.
• API testing with Postman, REST Assured or similar.
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or CircleCI.
• Git and test management tools such as TestRail or Zephyr.
• Understanding of software testing principles, SDLC and agile.
