Project Manager – Railway Signaling and Control

About the role

Hitachi Rail Portugal is looking for a Project Manager to lead the execution of railway signaling and control projects. The role ensures project delivery excellence, stakeholder alignment, operational performance and customer satisfaction across all phases of the project lifecycle. The position is full time and based in Paço de Arcos.

Key responsibilities

• Project initialization and launch review (baseline review)
• Project execution, monitoring and controlling
• Delivery and invoicing of project deliverables
• Capture of project lessons learned
• Project closure

Required profile

• Electrotechnical engineer degree or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience in similar roles
• Member of the Portuguese Engineering Association (Ordem dos Engenheiros or Ordem dos Engenheiros Técnicos)
• Experience in ground transportation project management is recommended
• English is mandatory; French is recommended

Required skills

• Core project management knowledge, including resource management, project planning and management methods
• Understanding of the railway project lifecycle, from requirements through design, integration, verification and validation to test, commissioning and acceptance
• Knowledge of railway industry organisation structures, standards, workflows, operating procedures and terminology
• Team management and motivation skills, and problem-solving skills for customer-focused solutions and high-level operational challenges
• IPMA level C certification or above is recommended
