Project Manager – Horizon Europe MIRRI‑FIRM

About the role

We are looking for a Project Manager to lead the Horizon Europe MIRRI‑FIRM project, a European research infrastructure initiative focused on microbial resources. The role is based at the MIRRI‑ERIC headquarters in Braga, Portugal, with the possibility to work hybrid within the country.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor all work packages of the MIRRI‑FIRM project in line with the Grant Agreement No. 101292674.
• Ensure timely delivery of milestones, manage budgets and reporting obligations to the European Commission.
• Facilitate communication between consortium partners, scientific teams and external stakeholders.
• Oversee procurement, risk management and compliance with Portuguese labour legislation.
• Support the preparation of progress reports, financial statements and dissemination activities.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent academic record relevant to project management or research infrastructure.
• Proven experience managing EU‑funded research projects or large‑scale consortia.
• Ability to work autonomously in an international, multidisciplinary environment.
• Unrestricted right to work in Portugal.

Required skills

• Project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMBOK).
• Budget planning and financial reporting.
• Stakeholder coordination and communication.

What we offer

• Full‑time contract up to four years, including a 180‑day probation period.
