Project Manager - Civil Sector

About the role

The Project Manager – Civil Sector will lead civil engineering and construction projects from planning through delivery, ensuring high standards of quality, safety and regulatory compliance. Based on‑site in Funchal, the role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing schedules and budgets, and acting as the main liaison with clients, contractors and authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and monitor civil engineering and infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
• Manage project schedules, budgets and cost control, providing regular financial tracking and reporting.
• Prepare, review and approve technical documentation, reports and compliance records.
• Oversee construction works, supervising contractors, ensuring quality, safety and environmental standards are met.
• Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues promptly and support continuous improvement of project management processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; professional registration is a plus.
• Strong experience in project management within the civil sector, including planning, coordination and delivery of construction projects.
• Proven ability to interpret technical designs, specifications and construction standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with fluency in Portuguese and good English.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Funchal and travel to project locations when required.
