Project Assistant

About the role

IEM is seeking a full‑time Project Assistant to support the Project Manager in reviewing CDBG‑MIT applications, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating project documentation and compliance for projects in Puerto Rico.

Key responsibilities

• Perform initial reviews and comments on applications, draw requests, change orders, subrecipient agreements, budget revisions, and closeout documentation.
• Conduct risk assessment evaluations of CDBG‑MIT eligible projects and prepare reports for the Project Manager and PRDOH.
• Coordinate environmental review work plans with the Environmental Professional and review subrecipient construction documentation at 30% and 90% development stages.
• Maintain awareness of federal, Commonwealth, and local construction codes and provide guidance on policy and regulatory changes.
• Organize and store all subrecipient documentation using the PRDOH System of Record and support logistics, communications, and presentation preparation.

Required profile

• Five (5) years of construction project management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Architecture.
• Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Architect in Training (AIT) or Engineer in Training (EIT) license.
• Residency and ability to work locally within Puerto Rico.
