Production, R&D & Projects Manager

About the role

ChemiTek is seeking a proactive manager to own the production line, support research & development, and lead funded innovation projects. You will work hands‑on on the factory floor while coordinating across all departments in a fast‑paced, low‑hierarchy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the production team: assign tasks, set daily priorities, and ensure quality and safety standards.
• Plan and release work orders in the ERP system to keep production on schedule.
• Manage inventory of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods in close collaboration with purchasing.
• Work on the shop floor alongside operators whenever production demands.
• Partner with R&D to scale up new formulations and optimise processes.
• Prepare, submit and manage applications for innovation funding programmes (Portugal 2030, EU funds), including reporting and payment claims.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation and coordinate daily with Sales, Logistics, Quality and R&D.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, Biology, Materials or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial production environment.
• Proven experience leading production teams.
• Strong organisational and planning abilities.
• Based in or near Esposende with a valid driving licence.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems for production planning and stock management.
• Knowledge of innovation funding programmes (Portugal 2030, EU funds) and their application processes.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems (nice to have).
• Fluent written and spoken Portuguese and English.
