Product Designer – Mechanical Engineering (CREO)

About the role

The Product Designer will work within Bontaz Portugal’s R&D Pole, supporting Product Engineers to create and validate mechanical functions for electromechanical systems used in the mobility sector. The role focuses on translating customer requirements into robust technical solutions while meeting quality, cost and schedule targets.

Key responsibilities

• Create 3D geometry and detailed drawings of components, sub‑assemblies and assemblies using CREO.
• Perform product dimensioning, calculations and simulations to ensure functional performance.
• Develop Design Verification Plans (DVP) and conduct subsystem tests on prototypes, tools and processes.
• Collaborate with Technical Designers to organise and execute design phases for assigned functions/sub‑functions.
• Analyse customer input data, specifications and rating information to define design solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of quality tools such as APQP and AMDEC.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken); French is a plus.
• Dynamic, team‑oriented attitude with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, adapt to changing requirements and stay organised.
