Process Engineer

About the role

ALTEN is seeking a Process Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team. The role supports both junior and experienced engineers, focusing on ensuring product quality, driving process improvements, and delivering reliable manufacturing solutions for upcoming projects.

Key responsibilities

• Define quality controls and perform tolerance calculations in collaboration with product engineering.
• Participate in PFMEA activities and provide expertise on owned processes.
• Plan and execute process development according to machine readiness levels and project timelines.
• Develop technical specifications, standard work instructions, and full process validation documentation.
• Monitor key process indicators (cycle time, scrap, OEE) and ensure they meet targets before serial production release.
• Contribute to design reviews with suppliers and act as technical contact for process shop environments.
• Support project management by tracking materials, deadlines, and cost of poor quality (COPQ).
• Engage in internal training, knowledge sharing, and component evaluation with VSE engineers.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
• Solid knowledge of mechanics, 3D visualization, and production technologies.
• Understanding of safety and ergonomics standards.
• Strong teamwork, commitment, flexibility, resilience, and communication skills.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
