Privacy Counsel

About the role

Dellent, a consulting firm specialized in information systems and telecommunications, is seeking a Privacy Counsel to join a multicultural team supporting a leading global trading platform. The role is based in Porto and will be performed in a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pragmatic legal advice on GDPR and local privacy requirements, monitoring regulatory developments and assessing impact on business activities.
• Maintain and strengthen privacy governance, including RoPAs, policies, procedures, privacy notices, DPIAs and legitimate interest assessments.
• Guide new projects, digital transformation, AI and data‑driven initiatives, embedding privacy by design and by default.
• Draft, review and negotiate DPAs, data‑sharing agreements and international transfer arrangements such as SCCs and transfer impact assessments.
• Support third‑party privacy due diligence, manage data subject rights requests, personal data breaches and regulatory interactions.
• Deliver privacy training, awareness initiatives and reporting to senior management.

Required profile

• 4‑7 years of professional experience in data protection and privacy, acquired in‑house, at a law firm or consultancy.
• Law degree with EU legal qualification/admission strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of GDPR and national data‑protection laws in at least one Euronext jurisdiction.
• Experience in privacy advisory, DPIAs, privacy governance, data‑protection contracts and international data transfers.
• Background in financial services, market infrastructure or other regulated environments is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages (French, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese) are advantageous.
