Portuguese Certified Accountant (CC) – Accounting & Payroll

About the role

ARC Ratings is seeking a Portuguese Certified Accountant (CC) in good standing with the Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados (OCC). The role will own the full accounting, tax and payroll cycle for ARC Ratings S.A. and provide support to other entities within the multi‑jurisdiction group.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain day‑to‑day accounting records in accordance with Portuguese accounting standards (SNC) and act as the appointed CC for the entity.
• Own the general ledger, month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Manage corporate and indirect tax compliance (IRC, VAT) and employment taxes (IRS withholding, Social Security).
• Process weekly bill payments following Group Finance Policy.
• Run monthly payroll, calculate and remit Social Security contributions, and handle payroll edge cases such as new joiners, leavers and statutory leave.
• Prepare payroll records, salary transfer instructions, payslips and employment confirmations.
• Serve as primary contact for statutory and Group audits.
• Support other Group businesses (UK, US, HK) with intercompany reconciliations and provide data for consolidation reporting.

Required profile

• Portuguese Contabilista Certificado (CC) in good standing with the OCC.
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese statutory accounting and tax regulations.
• Hands‑on experience with full accounting cycle, month‑end and year‑end close.
• Ability to work in an English‑speaking international environment.
