Pharmacy Technician – Star Ratings Specialist

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician will lead clinical interventions aimed at improving medication adherence and influencing the company’s Star Ratings. The role involves collaborating with beneficiaries, providers, and pharmacies to ensure proper medication use.

Key responsibilities

• Identify patients non‑adherent to key quality measures (diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol) and conduct outreach to improve adherence.
• Perform clinical interventions related to high‑impact measures such as Statin Use in Diabetes, Statin Use in Cardiovascular Disease, Concurrent Opioid‑Benzodiazepine use, and polypharmacy assessments.
• Document all interventions in Rx Effects and Aspect VIA tools to maintain accurate tracking.
• Participate in company‑led educational talks and clinical activities that support Star Rating improvement.
• Manage referral processes for medication refills and new prescriptions in coordination with pharmacies and physician offices.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Pharmacy Technology and a valid Pharmacy Technician license.
• At least one year of experience in community or institutional pharmacy settings.
• Knowledge of ICD‑10 clinical criteria and CPT procedure codes.
• Advanced Spanish language proficiency and basic English proficiency.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Rx Effects and Aspect VIA documentation tools.
• Understanding of ICD‑10 and CPT coding systems.
• Ability to conduct medication adherence interventions and education.
