Pharmacy Technician – Star Ratings Specialist

About the role

This position focuses on improving medication adherence and influencing star ratings for the organization. The technician will manage clinical interventions with beneficiaries, providers, and pharmacies to ensure proper medication use.

Key responsibilities

• Identify patients non‑adherent to key quality measures (diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol) and intervene to improve adherence.
• Conduct clinical interventions related to Statin Use in Diabetes, Statin Use in Cardiovascular Disease, Concurrent Opioid‑Benzodiazepine use, and polypharmacy measures (Anticholinergic Burden, CNS‑active meds).
• Document interventions using Rx Effects and Aspect VIA tools.
• Educate patients on obtaining prescribed medications according to pharmacy criteria.
• Support referral processes for medication refills and new prescriptions.
• Participate in pharmacy‑led initiatives such as educational talks and clinical activities aimed at improving adherence.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Pharmacy Technology.
• At least one year of experience in community or institutional pharmacy settings.
• Valid Pharmacy Technician license and registration.
• Knowledge of ICD‑10 clinical criteria and CPT procedure codes.
• Advanced Spanish (reading, writing, speaking) and basic English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Rx Effects tool.
• Proficiency with Aspect VIA tool.
• Understanding of ICD‑10 coding.
• Understanding of CPT coding.
