Pharmacy Operations Manager

About the role

The Pharmacy Operations Manager oversees all non‑clinical pharmacy activities to ensure a smooth workflow and a positive patient experience. Reporting to the pharmacist, this full‑time certified pharmacy technician leads a team of technicians and cashiers while handling administrative duties and compliance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day non‑clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities.
• Operate pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Supervise, schedule, train, coach, and evaluate pharmacy technicians and cashiers.
• Handle customer interactions, resolve complaints, and answer non‑clinical questions.
• Assist the pharmacist with patient registration, data entry, medication preparation, counting, and verification where permitted by law.
• Coordinate pharmacy daily schedules, allocate staffing hours, and maintain a clean, well‑stocked work environment.
• Prepare and file required reports for the company and government agencies.
• Manage inventory, conduct annual inventory preparation, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Drive implementation of new technology and process improvements.

Required profile

• Certified pharmacy technician with a solid understanding of state and federal pharmacy regulations.
• Proven ability to supervise and develop pharmacy staff.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Capacity to exercise independent judgment in delegating non‑clinical tasks.
